Parag Doshi, MD, FACC, FSCAI - Interventional Cardiology
Dr. Doshi is the Founding Directory of Chicago Cardiology Istitute. He is a faculty member of many cardiovascular conferences, and he also serves as a proctor for physicians in hands on courses for chronic total occlusions (CTO) and peripheral vascular disease.
Dr. Doshi completed his Interventional Cardiology fellowship at the Indiana heart Institute at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis. He served as the Chief Cardiology Fellow at Christ Hospital/Rush Universtiy where he also completed his Cardiovascular Disease fellowship.
Dr. Doshi specializes in complex coronary and peripheral interventions. He has performed thousands of invasive procedures including endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysms, carotid stenting, ASD/PFO closures, chronic total occlusion re-canalizations and endovascular laser treatments for venous insufficiency.
Dr. Doshi is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology and Nuclear Cardiology.
Aasita Patel, MD - Non-Invasive Cardiology
Prior to joining Chicago Cardiology Institute, Dr. Patel served as the Chief Cardiology Fellow at the University of Florida-Jacksonville where she also completed her Cardiology fellowship. She also served as the Chief Medical Resident for the West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, IL. Dr. Patel received her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine where she also completed her residency.
Her areas of interest include women’s heart health, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology.
Patel is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease.
Pablo F. Soto, MD - Non-Invasive Cardiology
Prior to joining our practice, Dr. Soto served as an Assistant Professor in Medicine and Radiology in the Cardiovascular Division at the Washington University School of Medicine where he also conducted research on the effects of aging and exercise on cardiac metabolism.
Dr. Soto completed his Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, and a General Surgery residency at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital of New York City. He received his Medical Degree from the Duke University School of Medicine.
His areas of interest include non-invasive imaging of the heart, including echocardiography, cardiac CTA and nuclear cardiology.
Dr. Soto is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology.
Jeffrey Freihage, MD - Interventional Cardiology
Dr. Freihage is a graduate from the Loyola University - Stritch School of Medicine. He completed his internship, residency and fellowship at the Loyola University Medical Center where he continues to participate as a Clinical Assistant Professor.
With his extensive training in Cardiovascular and Peripheral Vascular disease his interventional procedures include coronary interventions, peripheral interventions including: carotid stenting, and endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair.
He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology.
Mark Metzl, MD - Electrophysiology
Dr. Metzl completed his training with an extensive 2 year Cardiac Electrophysiology fellowship program at the University of Chicago Medical Center. He completed his Cardiovascular Fellowship and his Internal Medicine residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
His areas of interest include: cardiac electrophysiology, catheter ablation, arrhythmias, atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, pacemakers, defibrillators, cardiac resynchronization therapy, and syncope.
Dr. Metzl is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology.

Ankush Goel, MD - Interventional Cardiology
Dr. Goel joined our practice after completing his Interventional Cardiology fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center. He also completed his fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease and Heart Failure/Heart Transplant at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
His areas of interest include: Cardiovascular and Peripheral Vascular disease, interventional procedures include coronary interventions, peripheral interventions including: carotid stenting, and endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair.
Dr. Goel is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease.
